Following up on my earlier post where I discussed the provision in Governor Cuomo's proposed budget that would have eliminated the salary of the New York State Athletic Commission Chair, Melvina Lathan, I am pleased to report that it appears that the provision has been eliminated by the budget agreed upon by the "three men in a room," i.e. Governor Cuomo, Senate Majority Leader Skelos, and Assembly Speaker Silver.
This is good news for both MMA and boxing for the reasons described in my post here (and the link therein).
