New York Senate to Vote on Bill to Legalize MMA Today

This afternoon the New York State Senate will vote on the bill to legalize MMA in New York, S1707A.

Like last year, I expect the bill to pass -- I do think the vote will be close again, however -- as I don't think the bill's sponsor, Senator Griffo, would be putting the bill to a full floor vote without testing the waters and making sure the requisite votes were there.  We will soon find out.

Mayweather Jr. Sued Again by Allegedly Assaulted Nightclub Security Guard

If my post yesterday via TMZ, Mayweather Accused of Threatening Guards with Guns, was not enough, yesterday Mayweather was sued by a security guard at Drai's nightclub in Las Vegas because the security guard was allegedly "willfully assaulted and battered." 

The crux of the allegations are as follows:

That the Defendant, FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR., and his bodyguard, DOE I and others, entered the establishment to go into the Drai's Nightclub where the Plaintiff, who is a Security Officer at Drai's, proceeded to "card" or ask for identification for FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR., DOE I and others in the group.

That on or about the evening of January 2nd, at Wild Bill's Casino and Gambling Hall inside Drai's, Las Vegas, Nevada, FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR.'s bodyguard, DOE I, while in course and scope of his employment with FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR., and/or FLOYD MAYWEATHER FOUNDATION, and/or MAYWEATHER PROMOTIONS LLC., and or FLOYD JOY INC., and/or #1 PHILTHY RICH RECORDS maliciously and willfully assaulted and battered Plaintiff, by grabbing the Plaintiff, and choking him, and that by the acts of Defendants, and each of them, as aforementioned, Plaintiff was physically injured, and placed in great fear of his life and well-being.

I don't even know what else to say.

All the altercations with his luxury housing complex "security guards" and the management (see. e.g., Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Sued (Again) By Nevada Community Association and Mayweather Charged with Battery for Face Poking) has me wondering whether this could all be trumped up nonsense to get him out of the neighborhood.

How about a little conspiracy food for thought as we head into the Pacquiao Mosley fight this weekend....
